Oyón-Oion
This year, 2025, the start and finish lines of all the events will be in Oyón-Oion, a village full of history, character, and flavor. Located in the southeast of Rioja Alavesa, this town blends winemaking tradition with a remarkable artistic heritage. Walking through its historic center is like traveling through centuries of history: highlights include the Church of Santa María, from the 16th century, with its baroque tower nicknamed "La Giraldona" for its resemblance to the one in Seville, and stately homes such as the Palace of the Counts of Bureta or that of the Marquis of Puerto, witnesses of its noble past.
While exploring Oyón, you can also visit the Municipal Ethnographic Museum by appointment, which reflects its winemaking and artisan traditions.

Rioja Alavesa: land of wine, history, and landscape
Nestled between the Sierra de Cantabria and the Ebro River, in the south of Álava, lies Rioja Alavesa — a narrow strip of vineyards, soulful villages, and breathtaking views. Less than an hour from cities like Vitoria-Gasteiz, Bilbao, San Sebastián, or Pamplona, and just minutes from Logroño, it's a destination as accessible as it is unforgettable.
With 23 villages, including Laguardia, Oyón, Labastida, and Elciego, the region blends tradition, architecture, nature, and of course, wine. Its landscape of rolling hills, vineyards, and lagoons is perfect for getting lost, whether in world-renowned wineries or strolling along the Ebro.
Birthplace of some of the finest wines of the Rioja DOCa, Rioja Alavesa doesn't just live off wine — it celebrates it, turns it into art, and shares it with everyone who visits.
